Ingredients
- 250g red lentils
- Salt
- 1 Onion grated
- 1.5 tsp garlic and ginger paste
- 1 grated tomato
- Chili 1 sliced fresh
- 1/2 tsp turmeric
- 1 tsp cumin
- 3/4 tsp chili powder
- 3/4 tsp ground fennel
- Half tin coconut milk (optional)
MethodÂ
- Rinse lentils until water runs clear
- Boil in enough water to cover
- Add salt, cook until soft, add water to prevent sticking.
- In a separate pot,
- Braise onion until golden then add garlic and ginger paste
- Add tomato, chili and the rest of the spics
- Cook for about 3 minutes
- Pour lentils into pot
- Add coconut milk
