Carb-less burgers

We decided to make bean burgers, but you can use chicken, beef, ostrich, lamb etc.

Ingredients (serves 4)

  • 1 onion, chopped
  • +- 2 cups Kidney beans
  • 1 egg
  • +- 1 cup raw oats
  • Chilli and garlic chopped
  • Salt and pepper
  • Ground Cumin and Coriander
  • Big mushroom halved
  • Olive or canola oil

Method

Bean Burger Patties

  1. Blend everything up in a food processor
  2. Put the mixture into the fridge to cool for 30 minutes and then shape into patties
  3. Fry in a teeny tiny bit of olive or canola oil on a HOT pan

For the “ROLL”

  1. Drizzle mushrooms with a bit of oil and grill until browned
  2. Top the mushroom with the bean patties. Top with Broccoli & rocket Pesto or guacamole and salad leaves, sliced tomato and a touch of chutney
